Professor Wong is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Esophageal and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, Department of Surgery, School of Clinical Medicine, HKUMed and Honorary Associate Consultant in Department of Surgery, Queen Mary Hospital.
He received post-fellowship training at Northwestern University, Chicago, USA, Seoul National University, South Korea and endoscopy training at the Juntendo University, Nihon University School of Medicine, Keio University and Shizuoka Cancer Center. He is currently a committee member and panellist of the Hong Kong Society of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons (HKSUGIS), Hong Kong Society of Gastroenterology (HKSGE), Asian Pacific Society of Digestive Endoscopy (A‐PSDE) and International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE). He specialises his research interest on esophageal and gastric cancer management; diagnosis and management of esophageal motility disorder and gastroesophageal reflux disease; advanced diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy. He has also been a seasoned contributor to high‐impact surgical journals, including JAMA Surgery, Annals of Surgery, Annals of Surgical Oncology, Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, etc.
