Professor Tateya is a Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, School of Medicine, Fujita Health University, Japan.  He graduated from Kyoto University, Faculty of Medicine in 1994.  He entered Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University in 1999 and had obtained PhD in 2003.  He has done research in laryngology in University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Postdoctoral Fellow from 2003 and 2006. Having worked as an Assistant Professor and later as Associate Professor at Kyoto University from 2008 to 2019, he has been in his current position since July 2019.
His interests include the vocal fold development and regeneration, phonosurgery, endoscopic laryngo-pharyngeal surgery, and transoral robotic surgery.
